Accelerators Programme

AoC Sport have introduced an addition to the Student Leadership Programme. 

The Accelerator scheme, is for female students, returning to the Student Leadership Programme for their second year, with a focus on females from ethnically diverse communities. As Accelerators, students will have access to additional personal development training, qualifications and mentorship opportunities.

In return for the additional training, support and opportunities, Accelerators have been asked to:

• Support the recruitment of new Ambassadors to the Student Leadership Programme within their college.
• Encourage and assist new student ambassadors in their college to create impact.
• Apply learning and practical qualifications to support their peers across college and in the local community to join and stay on the physical activity spectrum.
• Collaborate with college tutors and lead on the implementation of projects, programmes and initiatives to service evidenced need within their college.
• Take ownership of and commit to a Personal Development Plan with the guidance of the Student Leadership Team.
• Support the delivery of the Student Leadership Programme at AoC Sport Development Days by planning, contributing to and engaging with the content.
• Utilise access to mentorship, volunteering opportunities and AoC Sport partner organisations to create networks for future employability.
