AQA Project Excellence Award

The AQA and AoC Project Excellence Award celebrates the most interesting, exciting and inspirational student research projects from Higher and Extended Project Qualifications.

Young Student of the Year (16 to 18 years old)

This category is open to anyone aged 16 to 18-years-old by 31 August 2023. There is no restriction on the course, type or level they are completing.

Apprentice of the Year

This category is open to anyone completing/completed an apprenticeship. There is no restriction on age, type or level of apprenticeship.

Adult Student of the Year (19+)

This category is open to anyone aged 19-years-old and over as at 31 August 2023. There is no restriction to the type or level of course they are completing or the upper age limit.

Higher Education Student of the Year

This category seeks nominations from colleges to recognise outstanding and exceptional students who have studied a higher education programme at a college. The programme will need to be at level 4 and above and lead to a prescribed or non-prescribed HE qualification. This could include Foundation Degree, HNC/D, Diploma HE, Undergraduate Degree, NVQ 4 and above, Higher Level or Degree apprenticeships or others studied on a full time or part time basis. We encourage colleges to nominate students from all age groups. This is an opportunity to help provide recognition to students and colleges for excellence in HE

Student Green Commitment Award

This Student of the year award is open to all FE students in AoC member colleges who have made a significant impact on sustainability, biodiversity, and/or green skills at a national, regional, local or community level.

Colleges may wish to nominate Students who have led on specific action projects ,this could include activities such as Forest Schools, recycling schemes including beach cleaning, sustainable transport schemes, carbon reduction initiatives, fashions swap shops, plant-based catering initiatives, biodiversity projects including the Queen's green canopy or creation of new wetlands or wildlife meadows; projects that reduce eco anxiety.
