Catherine Sykes

Catherine is an experienced Governance Professional and National Leader of Governance (NLG), currently leading governance at Hull College, where she played a key role in supporting the College out of intervention and strengthening board effectiveness. Awarded an MBE for services to education, she brings recognised leadership across the Further Education sector.

As Chair of the AoC Governance Professionals regional network and an active contributor to national governance development, Catherine offers sector-wide perspective, strong regulatory insight, and a reflective, improvement-focused approach to board reviews. She holds a Masters of Law in Corporate Governance, Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) in Further Education Governance and is a Chartered Governance Professional (CGI).
