Organisation: Lakes College
Location: Workington, Cumbria
Closing Date: 18 May 2026
Lakes College is situated in the heart of West Cumbria and comprises a general further education College and 6th form centre with a main campus near Workington; it is a founding partner of the National College of Nuclear. The College has a large percentage of 16-19 learners and apprentices which make up the majority of its curriculum, supplemented by adult funding and Higher Education, with over 5,500 students enrolled in various programs, including apprenticeships and flexible learning options.
The College is ambitious and forward looking; recognising the central role that colleges play in meeting local skills needs, supporting its communities and so challenging inequality and driving inclusive economic growth. Outstanding innovation in teaching and learning through our curriculum offer is central to our vision for the region of West Cumbria.
We are now seeking a Vice Principal Quality and Curriculum. You will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring that Lakes College delivers on its strategic purpose to transform lives through learning across West Cumbria and beyond. You will be a highly experienced, collaborative leader who can set high expectations and standards and inspire and motivate colleagues to embrace constant change with pace and energy, alongside the delivery of an exceptional offer that provides great learning opportunities and an excellent, all-round student experience. An individual with integrity, who prioritises communication and collaboration, empowers others, and is visible and accessible to staff; you will be a strategic thinker with a strong sense of vision and an effective leader of change.
If you believe that you have the drive, vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and help us realise our ambitions, we want to hear from you.
