Salary: Non-Remunerated
Organisation: The Sheffield College
Location: Sheffield
Closing Date: 11 Aug 2026
The Sheffield College is a further and higher education college that provides academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 14,500 young people and adults a year. We have high aspirations and standards for ourselves, and our learners and this role will be a key one in supporting the College’s mission to be consistently great and ensure our students get the qualifications and skills they need to go further in employment, careers, apprenticeships, further training and university level courses. Our mission is transforming lives through learning. The college, which is Ofsted graded ‘good’, provides high-quality academic, technical, and vocational training to enhance qualifications, skills, and employability across the region, and operates from a number of campuses and sites across the city.
We are seeking a Governor with a background in finance to bring their passion for education and training along with their expertise, skills, and experience to contribute to the ongoing strategic success of The Sheffield College. Our Governing Body is a strong team of individuals that brings together skills from the public and private sectors, education, and business and represents our local and regional communities. As a member of the Corporation Board, you will support and shape our work and strategic direction and share a commitment to raising aspirations and realising students’ potential.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed individual to play a crucial role in shaping futures. It is not necessary to have previous governance experience as you will benefit from a well-supported induction programme. All we need is your experience and time! In return, you will work with a great team of people and gain insight into a range of college aspects as well as the satisfaction of contributing to your local community.
If you believe that you have the vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and help us realise our ambitions, we want to hear from you.
Key Dates to Note:
Closing date for applications is: Tuesday 11 August 2026
