Salary: Non-Remunerated
Organisation: Yorkshire Rose College
Location: Doncaster
Closing Date: 22 Jun 2026
Yorkshire Rose College is a specialist provider of inclusive education for Deaf and SEND students and is part of The Carr Fenton Foundation, a charity with a proud heritage in Deaf education. The college is committed to supporting students to achieve on their own terms through a student first approach that places individual needs, communication and wellbeing at the centre of learning.
Many of our students cannot access mainstream colleges because the pace, size or environment does not meet their needs. The college recognises that this is not a reflection of potential, but of the need for the right support. Yorkshire Rose College removes barriers to learning through small class sizes, tailored support and a holistic offer that combines education, therapies and pastoral care.
The college supports a wide range of learners, from those with severe learning disabilities who require one to one support, through to students working towards Level 3 vocational qualifications. All students benefit from opportunities to develop confidence, independence and skills within a supportive community where communication comes first.
We are now seeking a Chair of Governors. You will play a central role in shaping the culture of the Board and the ethos and direction of the college, listening to and getting the best out of governors, challenging and supporting the Principal and senior leadership team. The Chair has responsibility to ensure that in taking these decisions, the interests of students, staff, and employers are always considered.
Yorkshire Rose College aspires to be recognised as an outstanding national specialist college, transforming the lives of its students through high quality, inclusive education and support. The college is committed to creating a supportive environment where every student’s individual journey is respected, enabling them to achieve their full potential through a personalised curriculum that promotes and celebrates achievement.
We are seeking an individual with integrity, who prioritises collaboration, empowers others. If you believe that you have the vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and help us realise our ambitions, we want to hear from you.
