West London College

A collection of student success stories from West London College.

Kazim Boscet (18) achieved a Triple Distinction Starred - D*D*D* in his Level 3 Business Extended Diploma.

In September, Kazim will be starting his degree at Brunel University in Economics and Accounting.

His long term goal is to work for KPMG as an accountant.

His plans haven’t changed because of the pandemic, but Lockdown was a worry for him as his mum is in the clinically vulnerable group.

He said: “Understanding how businesses actually work has been an incredible experience, most people have no idea how they function day to day. I was able to study accounting on my business course at college and as a result of the course I will now go to university to study Economics and Accounting. I hope to work as an accountant for KPMG one day.”

Marianna Papatheodorou achieved a Double Distinction Starred - D*D* in her Level 3 Health & Social Care Diploma Extended Diploma

She said “I worked hard throughout my course and it has paid off. The course has enabled me to achieve the university place I dreamed of and this will set me up well for my future career.”

Marianna is going to study Psychology at Westminster University.

Rupinder Kaur (18) achieved a D* D Distinction and Distinction Starred in her Level 3, Year 1 Art & Design 90-Credit Diploma

Rupinder hadn’t studied art previously and so enrolled on the Art and Design Level 2 and then progressed to the first year of the Level 3 course which she has just completed.

She has achieved exceptionally well and the college and course have given her the focus and passion to achieve well for the future.

She says of her art: “My work can be broadly described as expressionistic, but in reality I am trying to create something unique. I mix artforms, materials and messages to create something new. I want audiences who expect not to like my  work to look at it and for their minds to be changed so that they find they like it after all.  My course has given me the confidence to believe in myself and it will enable me to fulfil my dream of going to university.”

Next year, she will go on to complete the second year of her course to achieve the full Extended Diploma.  This is equivalent to 3 A-Levels, and will enable her to fulfil her dream of studying Architecture or Interior Design at University.
