Teach Too is an ETF development programme aiming to address quality improvement in technical and vocational teaching and learning, implementing Teach Too principles and practice based on the recommendations of the Commission on Adult Vocational Teaching and Learning (CAVTL) report.
Now in its sixth phase, the programme will support Post 16 providers to develop and embed Teach Too principles across their whole organisation, to increase their understanding and to develop their practice through use of the Teach Too framework and resources.
This phase will focus on wider technical education quality improvement including Apprenticeships, Higher and Degree Level, Higher Technical Skill Delivery and Knowledge Exchange between colleagues who currently deliver Apprenticeships and those preparing to deliver T Levels.
The emphasis is on two-way street working, genuine collaborative partnerships between FE sector providers and employers. Encouraging people from industry to spend some time teaching their work. This will enable the development of both a national core and locally tailored element, providing opportunites for employers to be involved in co- design, planning, development and delivery of technical education programmes.
Teach Too effective practice includes the implementation of the key characteristics of excellent technical teaching and learning, as highlighted in the CAVTL report recommendations:
- A clear line of sight to work
- ‘Dual Professional’ teachers and trainers who combine occupational and pedagogical expertise and are trusted and given the time to develop partnerships and curricula with employers
- Access to industry-standard facilities and resources reflecting ways in which technology is transferring work
- Clear escalators to higher level vocational learning, developing and combining deep knowledge and skills.
This phase is seeking to fund four organisational development projects, each with a value up to £10,000 and three small scale projects each with a value of £5,000.
Organisational Development Projects (larger scale)
We are seeking to fund four organisational development projects worth £10,000 each.
Organisations who have been funded for Teach Too activity in the past are welcome to apply for funding in this phase and all proposed activity should build on the previous work and extend delivery. Applications from organisations new to Teach Too are also welcomed.
Organisational Development Projects (smaller scale)
We are seeking to fund three organisational development projects worth £5,000 each.
Organisations preparing for the implementation of technical education reforms may find this funding useful to support the development of collaborative relationships, which improve the quality of technical education and training programmes.
Applicants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with how the Teach Too professional development offer has previously supported effective practice in the sector. Further information is available through these links Teach Too resources and effective practice case studies.
This opportunity aims to support organisations that have not previously participated in the Teach Too programme to develop their practice using the Teach Too framework and resources.
