National Advisory Groups

The current national advisory groups are:

  • Vice Principals' Network on Teaching, Learning and Assessment
    This group meets termly, two out of the three meetings are in London. The focus is on improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment through expert input, sharing practice that works and exploring research. It is also a forum to understand how reform is implemented on the ground so that AoC can report to government and its agencies and advise the Education and Training Foundation.

  • English and Maths

    This group meets termly in London. Its scope is the reforms in delivery and funding of English , maths and ESOL within 16-18 study programmes, to adult students and Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) claimants. The focus is in information, representation, developing a sustainable workforce and sharing good practice.

  • Community Learning

    A termly meeting in London of a joint AoC NIACE coordinated group of colleges who deliver community learning. The focus is on partnership working within community learning trusts, pound plus and support for good practice.

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

    This is a task and finish group focused on the reforms to ESOL qualifications, funding and mandation of JSA claimants with ESOL needs.
