Tournament organisers needed for 2021 Regional Tournaments 

AoC Sport is recruiting tournament organisers for Regional Tournaments - the qualifying events for the AoC Sport National Championships .

AoC Sport is the lead membership organisation for college sport and physical activity and is an Association of Colleges (AoC) subsidiary company. AoC Sport encourages and supports every student to participate in sport and physical activity as an integrated part of their college experience.

Our Regional Tournaments take place during the autumn term in each of our nine regions in 12 sports, and tournament organisers would be responsible for ensuring their sports competition runs smoothly.

The Regional Tournaments attract the best student athletes from across each region with the winners of each sport qualifying to represent their respective region at the AoC Sport National Championships, which have been held at the University of Nottingham for the last three years.

About the role

You don’t necessarily need to have volunteered in sport before and you could be a student, member of college staff, community sports club volunteer, or just interested in supporting our Regional Tournaments.

Experience of organising events is not essential, but it would be beneficial if you did have some specific knowledge and experience in the sport of your choice. Ultimately, we are looking for people who are:

• Confident and comfortable working with large groups
• Good communicators
• Reliable
• Enthusiastic
• Able to solve problems

The position is a voluntary role which will receive a £50 expense payment in recognition of the time given to support the event. Tournament organisers will need to make their own way to their event and will be required to attend an online training session ahead of the events.
