The finalists have been announced for the Fitness Trainer Competition 2020 National Finals, sponsored by Active IQ.
The competitors have been competing since March 2020, and they have had to complete the following, as judged by our expert team:
- Passive stage- consisting of a video showcase and series of competency questions, thus shortlisting the top 40 highest performing competitors for the live heat.
- Virtual live heats- consisting of a session plan submission, a digital personal trainer session and digitally demonstrating hard skills.
Those top 10 competitors who scored highest in the virtual live heats have been invited to attend the virtual national finals, where they will be challenged beyond their standard education and assessment as a personal trainer. The competition takes place from Saturday 17 October with the live finals taking place on Friday 23 October.
Angus Milligan, Competition Manager, said: “Despite the challenges this year has brought to the sector as a whole, we are hugely proud as a team of being able to continue to deliver this competition and allow us to showcase the talent within the sector.
"The competitors registered for this competition back in March, but many will have been preparing and planning month prior to registration. It was so important that we adapted and changed to the circumstances and continued to deliver and not let down a generation of newly qualified personal trainers.
“We have been very impressed with the competitors this year, as they have taken everything in their stride, despite the competition not being as originally expected or planned for. The talent is as high as ever and the competition will be tight. As a competition team we are all looking forward to the finals on the 17- 22 October 2020, and we are excited to see how the competitors perform.
“We wish all the competitors the best of luck in the finals and their future careers!”
