Winner of the Student Performer of the Year

31st May 2022

Congratulations to Fraya Walker from St John Rigby College for winning Student Performer of the Year:

Fraya Walker Studies BTEC Sport at St John Rigby College. She is a dedicated and passionate netball player, playing for St John Rigby Netball team, Manchester Thunders U17’s, Tameside Netball Club, and the AoC Sport National Representative Team.

Fraya is a very keen netball player, with a positive attitude no matter the situation. While injured Fraya continued to give her time to the team, supporting them from the side-lines. Fraya is a friendly and engaging player who has helped create strong bonds amongst players and increased team moral within the St John Rigby Netball team.

Fraya’s passion and dedication for netball goes beyond her performance as a player, she is a dedicated volunteer, assisting the college through running participation level netball, as an introduction for students new to the sport. She also continues her coaching outside of college at Tyldesley Netball Club where she covers a variety of age groups.

Once Fraya finishes here BTEC Sport, she hopes to join the Navy and represent the Navy in Netball. Her dream would be to travel the world playing netball, following in her dad’s footsteps who played in the Navy Rugby team.

Highly Commended:

  • Lilli Ives- Campion - Loughborough College
  • Evie Rabjohn - Birmingham Metropolitan College
