Sam Bright - Suffolk New College

Grades achieved: D* D* D* BTEC in level three sport at Suffolk New College

Why did you study on the course?

I received good GCSE grades and I’m well into my sport so I wanted to learn more about a subject I love. The course was was just as I expected. You learn through the theory of everything through practical study and the tutors helped us all the way throughout my time at the college.

Do you have a highlight from the course?

In the first year I received sport student of the year – so that was naturally a massive boost. I also enjoyed being involved in a lab session at The University of Suffolk with some Team GB Karate athletes. It complimented my learning and was very helpful.

You did amazingly well in terms of your grades – how did you feel when you found out how you had got on?

I kept up my grades throughout the course and got a triple distinction so I was over the moon. I worked as hard as I can, at college, in breaks, at home and over the weekends – I revised hard for exams and I got the grades I wanted.

What’s next?

I’m now off to The University of Suffolk to study sport and exercise science on a three year course. I can’t wait to start it. It will be a new chapter for me where I can take my knowledge to the next level.

Finally, would you recommend Suffolk New College to others?

Yes – I’ve had the best experience and all the tutors there really help you. They are always there to support you and get the best out of you.
