Group Principal

Salary: £120,000

Organisation: Capital City College Group

Location: London

Closing Date: 09 Jun 2024

Capital City College Group (CCCG) is the largest further education provider in London and third largest in the UK, with an income of c.£120m, eleven centres and over 25,000 students every year. The group consists of three colleges, each providing a broad education and skills offer, alongside a commercially-focused training arm, a unique coding school and the Visionnaires social enterprise for entrepreneurs.

Graded Good by Ofsted and enjoying robust financial health, the group plays a significant role in meeting London’s skills needs and has an impressive range of well-embedded partnerships with employers and other key stakeholders. CCCG is ambitious for the future and, under the leadership of a new CEO, is in the process of setting a new group strategy and embedding a new structure to ensure it reaches ever greater heights.

The Group Principal is a newly created post which has key input into defining and delivering the overall strategic leadership of the group, promoting a culture of high expectations and ensuring a consistently excellent student experience. As one of three Group Principals, the post holder will work collaboratively and proactively across all colleges and multiple locations, leading specifically on Adult and Higher Education provision.

This is an especially exciting remit, as the group’s Adult provision is leading edge, with Mayor’s Skills Academies in four curriculum areas and year on year over-achievement of the Adult Education Budget, with excellent potential for further success and development. Likewise, the HE offer is poised for growth and innovation, with new opportunities to take forward. Alongside this, the new Group Principal will take overall brand ambassador responsibilities and be the lead for external representation of one of our colleges, the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL), developing strong links with stakeholders, ensuring the college is well-embedded in its local communities and optimising its high profile.

The successful candidate will bring experience of inspirational leadership in the education sector, working within a senior team to achieve outstanding outcomes and to embed a culture of aspiration. A visible and motivational leader, the post holder will have a proven track record of managing teams and harnessing their talents, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partner organisations. Key to success is a proactive, resilient approach and the ability to lead on a positive change journey.
