Clerk to the Board of Trustees
Salary: £55,007 Pro Rata (2 days p/w) - includes 13 weeks annual leave
Organisation: Haringey Sixth Form College
Location: London
Closing Date: 29 Jun 2025
Haringey Sixth Form College is committed to transforming the lives of our students through high quality teaching and learning programmes and holistic support, which enable them to succeed and achieve their goals. Known for our inclusivity and aspiration, we are instrumental in promoting opportunity, social mobility and economic prosperity within our communities in North East London.
We have grown significantly over the last few years in terms of both income and student numbers, due to our strong reputation and positive outcomes. We benefit from an outstanding financial position and we have made significant investments in our estate and facilities, delivering a superb, leading-edge learning environment. We offer a wide range of courses closely aligned to local skills needs, including A levels, vocational programmes and T levels.
We are seeking a new Clerk to the Board of Trustees, who will provide strategic guidance and support to the Trustees in the fulfilment of the college’s strategic objectives, ensuring the Board complies with its legal, statutory and public obligations. The post holder will lead on governance activities and regulatory compliance in line with best sector practice, promoting sound standards of governance and providing relevant training and advice. Our Board of Trustees, which this role will support, is impactful and ambitious for the future, providing effective challenge and support for the college to succeed. This role provides ample opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to bring fresh ideas and to develop new ways of working.
Our successful candidate will bring experience of working in a governance role, with a track record of working effectively with trustees or a board of directors. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills are of key importance, as is the ability to work with efficiency, professionalism and accuracy. We are flexible about sector background; what is more important to us is your ability to quickly grasp the legislative requirements expected of our Board and the regulatory environment in which our college operates.
There is flexibility in terms of working terms and conditions.
