Leading an English and Maths Team Workshop

Tuesday 17 September 2019 | Manchester

Colleges are struggling to secure GCSE English and Maths grade C, but is this any surprise when students have likely struggled for 11 years at school and are now required to pass in just 36 weeks?

This is an enormous challenge, going beyond the English and Maths classroom, requiring a whole college approach to behaviour, attendance and a culture of these key skills being everybody’s priority.

This workshop is specifically designed for FE leaders and managers responsible for cross-college English and Maths provision and explores ways of maximising the potential of disaffected students who are re-sitting GCSE English and Maths, or studying Functional Skills in English and Maths, achieving a grade C or 5.
