Colleges Week 2020 - Save the date

30 Jul 2020

We’re pleased to announce that Colleges Week 2020 will take place Monday 19 October - Friday 23 October 2020. We have got lots of plans and ideas and we will be sharing them with you soon, but for now, all we’re asking is that you get the dates in your calendar.

Colleges Week is a chance to celebrate and shout about all of the brilliant things that colleges do, day in and day out to build communities, boost businesses, and support individuals. The inspiring way colleges have responded to the challenges thrown up by COVID-19 means that there will be even more inspiring and impressive stories to tell than ever before. And we’re determined to make this the biggest and best Colleges Week yet.

Association of Colleges Chief Executive David Hughes said: “‘I am delighted that Colleges’ Week will run again this autumn. It offers colleges and their supporters the opportunity to celebrate everything that we love about our sector – from the passion and dedication of staff to the incredible students to the stories about achievement and impact which inspire. This year we will be able to build on the incredible roles colleges have played during the pandemic and lockdown, as well as look forward to how colleges will remain vital to their communities, supporting people to achieve their ambitions and maximise their talents and ensuring that employers can recruit and train the people they need to be successful. Please help us make the Week bigger and better than ever. We really do need to find time to celebrate and recognise success and potential."

Colleges Week is a key part of the Love Our Colleges campaign, and is a partnership between Association of Colleges (AoC), National Union of Students (NUS), Association of College and School Leaders (ASCL), University and Colleges Union (UCU), GMB, TUC, National Education Union (NEU) and UNISON.

So for now, save the date, keep an eye on the Love Our Colleges website, and get planning your activities. If you’d like to share your ideas or let us know what you’re planning, contact comms@aoc.co.uk.
