- Setting 2020-1 budgets - a presentation for colleges (2 June 2020)
Setting 2020-1 budgets - a presentation for colleges (2 June 2020)
2nd June 2020
Colleges need to set their 2020-1 budgets by 31 July 2020. The ground rules for this process are:
The governing body needs to approve the budget and needs to ensure it is delivered
The budget acts as the authority to spend money (depending on the way in which a college's financial regulations work)
The budget is a chance to update the college's financial targets and should be profiled for use in the monthly management accounts
The college's accounting officer will need to certify that the July 2020 financial return is consistent with the college's budget
AoC's Julian Gravatt is running 3 webinars (on 2, 16 and 30 June 2020, all from 10 am to 11am) to discuss the issues colleges need to consider in setting 2020/21 budgets, including the assumptions they might make and decisions they need to take. The slides for the 2 June 2020 webinar are here
