- School and college leaders join to raise concerns on 16-19 budgets
School and college leaders join to raise concerns on 16-19 budgets
19th June 2019
AoC has joined with the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), Sixth Form College Association (SFCA), Grammar Schools Heads Association (GSHA), Independent Academies Association (IAA) and Freedom and Autonomy for Schools National Association (FASNA) to raise concerns about current funding levels for the education of 16, 17 and 18 year olds. In a letter to Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, the associations raise concerns about the large drop in funding once young people reach 16 and the impact that pensions and national insurance costs will have on budgets. The letter explains that funding restrictions will make it harder for schools and colleges to raise standards in education and tackle a shared national agenda to ensure that every young person works hard and fulfills their potential. The letter is available here
