- ECFA National Team programme recruits talented therapists
ECFA National Team programme recruits talented therapists
4th January 2021
The England Colleges National Team programme has been bolstered by the recruitment of two talented therapists.
Kirsten Wing has been appointed as the Men’s Team Physiotherapist. Kirsten is currently a PhD candidate in Sports Leadership, Education and Society, with a background in sports therapy and strength and conditioning.
She is leading the development and implementation of sports science and therapy for Gloucester Development Centre and brings valuable experience of Academy set ups including West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa to the national team programme.
Alongside Kirsten’s appointment, Megan Robson has been appointed as Assistant Physiotherapist to support both the men’s and women’s team programmes. Megan is currently the Sports Therapist for Maidenhead United’s Academy covering four men’s teams and one women’s team, whilst also lecturing at Buckinghamshire New University.
Megan and Kirsten will join Becky Mayo, current Women’s Team Physiotherapist, and together they will create the ECFA medical team responsible for injury treatment, prevention and rehabilitation across the two squads.
Alice Kempski, National Football Development Manager said: “Both player and staff education and welfare are integral parts of the programme and this new-look volunteer staff team will offer a great range of expertise and experiences which I believe will really drive forward the support that we can provide. We are delighted to have both Kirsten and Megan come on board, and we are truly appreciative of all of the staff members and the time and passion they invest in the programme.”
