College staff and governors on Queen's Birthday Honours list
14th December 2017
Congratulating college staff and governors who appeared in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, Martin Doel, Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges, said: “The hard work and dedication of a number of college principals, governors and staff has once again been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and I would like to congratulate them on this occasion.
“They work tirelessly to ensure that their students receive top-quality education and training and this is reflected in their awards.”
“We are particularly pleased to see to see that Mark White, Chair of the Association of Colleges’ (AoC) Governors’ Council and member of AoC’s Board, has been honoured for his services to education with an OBE.”
Three students who won Gold Medals at the WorldSkills competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil, last year also featured on the Honours list. Beauty therapist Rianne Chester from Warrington Collegiate, plumber Gary Doyle from Southern Regional College and cabinet maker Edward Harringman from Chichester College received a Medal of the Order of the British Empire for services to skills.
