The Careers & Enterprise Company’s Personal Guidance Fund - Expression of interest
AoC is considering making an application to The Careers & Enterprise Company’s Personal Guidance Fund. The fund will support and develop existing personal careers guidance activity, which meets The Gatsby Foundation’s Good Career Guidance Benchmark 8 across schools and colleges.
We plan to coordinate a proposal which includes up to 20 colleges across England and are seeking expressions of interest (EoI) from those who wish to be involved.
The first round of applications will fund roughly five projects from September 2018 for two academic years. This fund is seeking proposals which build on existing activity.
Colleges who wish to be included in our submission must currently deliver personal one-to-one careers guidance by a qualified member of staff. The fund will support further development of this activity.
The type of additional activity supported through the fund includes:
Further delivery of personal guidance where every student has two personal guidance interviews carried out by a qualified person (QCF Level 6 or above).
Upskill existing careers professionals – qualified staff get access to continuing professional development, unqualified staff supported to achieve QCF Level 6
Training for new careers professionals for future delivery.
Our proposal will aim to develop effective ways for groups of colleges to work together to deliver personal guidance in a cost-effective way. Our delivery model will be developed further in the coming weeks.
A second round of applications will be launched in November 2018 which supports the development of new activities. This round is better suited to those not currently delivering personal guidance but who are keen to be involved. We may consider a coordinated application at that time.
To notify us of your interest, please download and complete our EoI form and return to projects@aoc.co.uk by 12pm, Monday 21 May.
