Revised Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures

Acas has revised this Code to clarify that employers cannot reject a worker’s choice of companion if that companion is “a fellow worker, a trade union representative, or an official employed by a trade union” (and the worker’s request is made in a reasonable manner). This amended Code is expected be approved by Parliament in March 2015 and will then be available via Acas’s website. Colleges can also refer to Acas's response to its consultation on this issue.
