T Level Foundation Year English, Maths and Digital Network

Venue: Online

Date: 1 July 2024

Time: 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Fee: Free

The T Level Foundation Year network for English, Maths, and Digital serves as a platform for providers to exchange best practices, resources, and successful outcomes. It fosters an environment for questions, issue resolution, and active involvement in shaping session agendas.

Following the introductory session (held 25 April 2024), the attendees noted that there was some concern that students opting for some T Levels might struggle with GCSEs, especially those in more practical subjects. Therefore, this meeting will discuss various strategies on how a GCSE might be delivered. The focus to be on exam preparation, upskilling students, hints, and tips on moving students from grade 3 to 4 and above.

Meetings are held on a termly basis or more frequently if necessary. Input from members on the agenda ensures personalised assistance, with guest speakers highlighting exemplary practices.

This session will be co-hosted by Nichola Webster (Associate Principal, Head of Faculty in Business and Land) from Cirencester College.

Target Audience - Those involved in the planning or delivery of a T Level Foundation Year

Peer Learning Networks are designed to bring together providers to network over shared challenges of the TL Foundation Year. Network members also have opportunities to share and hear case studies and outstanding practice to date, as well as furthering relationships with other providers. Peer Learning Networks are attended by delivery and planning year providers together. They are small networks so that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
