- AoC Student and Staff Governor Summit 2024
AoC Student and Staff Governor Summit 2024
Venue: ICC Birmingham
Date: 11 November 2024
Time: 5:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Fee: Free for 50 student governors and £70 for staff governors
Monday 11 November, 5.30pm - Tuesday 12 November, 4.00pm
We are excited to invite staff and student governors to the AoC Staff and Student Governors Summit. As part of the wider AoC Annual Conference, we are hosting a summit, aimed at equipping student and staff governors with essential skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities to support their critical roles within colleges.
Governors will participate in tailored sessions and will also experience part of the AoC Annual Conference, gaining exposure to key sector discussions and thought leadership. From breakout sessions and networking opportunities to keynote addresses and a large-scale exhibition, this programme will equip participants with the skills and confidence to thrive in their roles. The support, connections, and insights gained during these sessions will be invaluable, and we believe the inclusion of Student Governors in this environment will provide a fantastic developmental experience as well as a voice on important matters.

The AoC Charitable Trust is pleased to fund 50 Student Governor spaces for the event. Colleges will only be responsible for the accommodation and evening meal, priced at just £99 +VAT, payable directly to the Ibis hotel. Once the first 50 spaces have been filled, an additional charge of £70 +VAT will apply for each student delegate.
We are not able to fully fund staff governors and the cost for Staff Governors to cover their full participation in the two-day event, including access to all sessions and workshops is £70 +VAT. We believe this will be a valuable investment in the continued development and contribution of staff and student governors. As with student governors, the cost of the accommodation and evening meal at £99 +VAT is payable directly to the hotel.
Once a booking has been made for the event, details will be sent to secure the hotel accommodation and dinner.
