Creative Curriculum was set up as a framework to enable the practical delivery of professional learning for students who develop, produce and launch real-world projects.
Film School, Magazine Academy, Board Game School and Creative Futures Games Design students experience the working world in a safe, yet challenging environment over a dedicated two week period. They engage with real businesses and professionals alongside their tutors, and all projects end with a launch event or premiere screening.
Deadlines, working with clients and the latest professional equipment, while controlling budgets, present many challenges for students. Through tackling these challenges in a pressurised, supportive environment, students grow in confidence, gain vital experience and continue onto rewarding careers. Boasting improved success rates, Creative Curriculum outcomes are life changing for students.
The framework has grown organically through the teams within the media department and other academic areas are exploring its benefits. Students from other course areas have already benefitted from working alongside media students on specific elements of their projects and the framework is easily transferable to other departments.
Colleges will be inspired by Creative Curriculum, because passionate staff, engaged students and impressed employers working together, showcases the sector in its very best light.
