Inclusivity Fairs

A case study by Cheshire College South and West

The Youth Social Action Ambassadors at Cheshire College South and West started off with loads of ideas for social action projects. The common element was that the Ambassadors all wanted to do something for the college community and raise awareness about diversity. The training event at Dudley was really useful because it helped the group bring all the ideas together and decide on creating an inclusivity fair at two campuses. This meant that everyone’s ideas could be included, and the fairs could reach learners from all sorts of backgrounds. Even though the campuses were far apart, Teams was used to communicate and to share our ideas and there were regular weekly meetings most weeks to discuss the project and ideas. As time evolved, the fairs took on a slightly different name to each other, but each had the same kind of vibe and posters were created to help promote the events.
