Chair to the Corporation
Organisation: Loughborough College
Closing Date: 24 Mar 2024
Loughborough College is a dynamic and ambitious General Further Education college with a high reputation for academic and sporting excellence, offering post-16 education in the heart of Leicestershire. The college’s mission is “to transform and enrich lives through lifelong learning, empowering the workforce of tomorrow.” Our vision is “Broadening Horizons. Transforming Lives. Shaping Futures.” Meeting local, regional, and national skills needs is at the core of what we deliver, and we focus clearly on the destinations of our outstanding students.
The College has an extensive partnership with Loughborough University, is the home of the NFL Academy, and works with 2,000 elite athletes each year. We also work closely with a range of blue-chip employers and stakeholders across several sectors, including 15 national governing bodies. We’re a successful and financially robust organisation, with an annual turnover of £44m. Currently, we are investing £30 million in our estate, including the Institute of Technology, Digital Skills Hub, state-of-the-art sports hall, and social spaces, firmly positioning the college as a destination of choice.
We are seeking a Governor with a background in finance to bring their passion for education and training along with their expertise, skills, and experience to contribute to the ongoing strategic success of Loughborough College. Our Governing Body is a strong team of individuals that brings together skills from the public and private sectors, education, and business and represents our local and regional communities. As a member of the Corporation Board, you will support and shape our work and strategic direction and share a commitment to raising aspirations and realising students’ potential.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed individual to play a crucial role in shaping futures. It is not necessary to have previous governance experience as you will benefit from a well-supported induction and training programme. All we need is your experience and time! In return, you will work with a great team of people and gain insight into a range of college aspects as well as the satisfaction of contributing to your local community.
If you believe that you have the vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and help us realise our ambitions, we want to hear from you.
