AoC Response to UCU Ballot

In response to the University and College Union's ballot of members in FE colleges, Sue Dutton, AoC Acting Chief Executive, said;
"This action is precipitant. We are disappointed that UCU has decided to ballot its members on strike action at this time, with a view to future industrial action, before formal discussions in the Joint National Forum have even begun. Within the agreed negotiations timetable we have yet to issue a formal offer for the 2008/9 pay round."
