New research shows Government risks pricing a quarter of a million adults out of education
07 July 2011A quarter of a million people on benefits risk being priced out of education, according to new research from the Association of Colleges (AoC); of these 75% - 185,000 people - are women.

Colleges and Bursaries
06 July 2011At the end of June, Colleges received letters from the Young People's Learning Agency (YPLA) telling them about their bursary allocations, which will help the poorest students continue their education. Bursaries replace Education Maintenance Allowances but the total money available will fall from £575m in 2010 to £180m in 2012, a cut of two-thirds.
