Commenting on UCU's national pay protests, Evan Williams, Head of Employment Policy, said;

“It is disappointing that unions feel the need to protest on 4 June - during pay negotiations. The recommendations made so far to the national joint forum are part of the annual negotiations and represents a well considered and affordable increase for colleges in light of the current funding allocations. We very much hope meaningful negotiations will continue on 5 June.
