Commenting on today’s announcement regarding rising participation rates for 16 to 18-year-olds, Association of Colleges Chief Executive Martin Doel said;
“Colleges are central to rising participation rates - 737,000 16 to 18-year-olds choose to study in a college, almost double those of the same age group in school – and they are predicted to attract the vast majority of new learners when the participation age is raised to 18. They offer an exciting alternative to school and will be key to the delivery of the new Diploma this year.”
