Association of Colleges

General membership information

AoC MembershipColchester Institute

AoC's full members are Further Education, Sixth Form, Tertiary and Specialist Designated Colleges across Great Britain.

What criteria does my College need to meet to become a full member of AoC?

Full membership of the Association of Colleges is limited to Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges created through the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. This legislation removed Colleges from local authority control and established them as autonomous, publicly funded institutions.

If your institution or organisation does not meet the above criteria, it may still be eligible to join AoC through our affiliation programme. Private training providers are not eligible for affiliation.
