The Mission of the National Clerks’ Network
To promote excellence in governance by providing a mutual support network f or clerks, representing the views of clerks, and providing a communications channel to and from clerks and other groups and individuals who are in a position to influence College governance.
National Clerks’ Network
The AoC National Clerks’ Network (NCN) comprises nine committees corresponding to each AoC region. Clerks are invited both to express their views on issues of governance and to receive guidance on key issues at regional committee meetings which are usually held three times a year. A close relationship between Clerks, their Networks and the Governors’ Council is considered integral to the effective promotion and delivery of national and regional initiatives within College Corporations, in particular respect to membership issues, and a co-opted representative of the NCN sits on the Governors’ Council.
The NCN National Committee, which also convenes three times a year, consists of experienced Clerks acting as co-ordinators for each of the nine regions and representative Clerks from both sixth form and land-based colleges. This National Committee is the conduit for information to and from the regions and is responsible for promoting Clerks’ voice in the Sector and ensuring Clerks are properly informed on all key governance issues.
