AoC Beacon Awards 2008-09
The winners of this year's AoC Beacon Awards were announced at the start of the Awards Evening at the AoC Annual Conference last week by Tony Hawks - Comedian, Writer, Musician and Philanthropist.

The Trustees of the AoC Charitable Trust, the Beacon Awards Steering Group and the AoC would like to warmly congratulate all of the successful colleges.
The winning colleges will be hosting local presentation ceremonies in the New Year, in conjuction with the sponsor of their award, and will be presented with their certificates at the National Presentation Ceremony which will be held in Westminster on 10 February 2009.

AoC Gold Awards 2009
Colleagues are invited to nominate a person, or persons, to be considered for next year’s AoC Gold Awards. The person should be someone who has attended your college and who has since gone on to achieve recognition in their chosen field or profession.
Recipients of the Gold Awards will have:
• attended college for a significant period (e.g. for a year, or until the completion of a qualification);
• acknowledged that they gained benefit from their time at the college;
• received public recognition and acclaim, or made a major contribution, in their field.

Please return your nomination forms to the AoC Charitable Trust by Friday 19 December 2008.
The winners will be presented with their Awards at a ceremony to be held at the House of Commons in June 2009.
