PROCUREMENT NEWS...
Introduction
- Procurement within Colleges is supported by the AoC SW Regional Procurement Manager through various efficiency initiatives in order to reduce costs, improve value for money, comply with EU and UK procurement regulations, improved supplier performance and improve procedures and processes.
Procurement Efficiency Forums
- Every term we hold a regional procurement efficiency forum at different locations within the region. These meetings enable Colleges to come together and share ideas on procurement as well as encouraging collaboration between Colleges.
- The next meeting is scheduled to be held in Spring 2012 and notification of the meeting date and venue will be sent out to both Colleges’ finance and procurement contacts.
Collaboration
- Currently three collaboration groups in the region.
Shared Services
- Currently three shared services groups in the regions.
- AoC Shared Services Conference scheduled for 22nd February 2012 in Birmingham and is free to attend for AoC member Colleges.
Exam Awarding Bodies
- The feasibility study will be submitted by the CPC Project Manager, Shaun Anders, at the beginning of January 2012 for review/approval by the CPC board. That report will include a recommended way forward and a proposed project plan. If the feasibility study demonstrates that the framework is viable it is anticipated that something will be in place by the end of April. An update to member Colleges will be provided later in January 2012.
