What is the Sector Management College (SMC)?

The Sector Management College (SMC) is a development programme for existing junior and middle managers in the learning and skills sector. It aims to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills to become highly effective managers. The programme has been developed by LSIS and AoC.

The uniqueness of this programme is fourfold:

• It is the only programme written exclusively by the sector for the sector that
  caters for a practical application of management skills in FE
• Everyone involved in this programme has extensive FE experience and knowledge and the programme supports all learning styles
• This programme invites expert speakers from the sector who are recommended by AoC and learning and skills sector bodies as highly respected and regarded senior specialists from the sector
• This programme has three accredited routes in
• FE Sector Management Practice

1. (MA) Masters programme with Middlesex University
2. CMI qualification at Level 5
3. CPD certification for skills development.
