MISSION: ‘To promote excellence in governance by providing a mutual support network f
or clerks, representing the views of clerks, and providing a communications channel to and from clerks and other groups and individuals who are in a position to influence college governance.’
The AoC National Clerks’ Network (NCN) consists of nine regional committees based on AoC regions; each committee has a regional co-ordinator who is an experienced clerk. Regional committee meetings are held, on average, three times per year and clerks throughout each of the regions are invited to attend to consider, and advise on, issues of governance and to receive guidance on key issues.
The NCN National Committee, which normally meets three times per year, comprises the nine regional co-ordinators plus representative clerks from the sixth form colleges and land based colleges. The NCN National Committee is the conduit for information to and from the regions and is responsible for ensuring that the sector is aware of the views of clerks and that clerks are properly informed on all key issues which affect governance.
