What we do

The Association of Colleges exists as the essential, influencing voice of colleges. East Riding College150

Key AoC activities include:

  • Negotiating with Government and its agencies to ensure that colleges remain at the forefront of policy making.

  • Influencing Government and LSC to maximise the funding for colleges and inform public debate with consistent and reliable data.

  • Securing a strong Parliamentary and media profile for the sector while providing  professional support for member colleges in their relationships with MPs and media.

  • Providing individualised HR expertise to colleges and access to the best HR intelligence and practice.

  • Advocating for colleges at all levels on inspection, curriculum, examinations and more… 

  • Providing support services for colleges’ IT development, including national representations, conferences and networks.

  • Maximising opportunities for colleges to engage with employers and to excel in their services to business.

  • Delivering key events in the education calendar and providing business solutions to organisations in consultancy, training, recruitment and conferencing.

  • Representing the views and interests of members to regional policy making, strategic and funding bodies and providing professional support to regional members.
