Be a part of the 2010 World Congress

The 2010 World Congress of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, hosted by AoC, will bring together the international vocational and technical education community for three days of sharing and learning with peers from around the world at the Birmingham International Convention Centre.

The congress provides a major platform to discuss key issues of the day and this year’s programme will be packed with keynote speeches, breakout sessions, special interest group meetings and study tours of UK Colleges.

How you can get involved?

AoC is delighted to offer this fantastic opportunity to member Colleges in the West Midlands region to be a part of this leading international event.

Study tours will showcase some of the best UK Colleges the sector has to offer, and allow delegates to understand first hand how their international counterparts are responding to the challenge of driving global recovery through education.

Specifically, the study tours are intended to:

  • Set out best practice and innovations in the English College sector
  • Contextualise the themes highlighted in the main congress programme
  • Demonstrate how Colleges are responding to curriculum, pedagogical and funding challenges as well as the policy priorities of the new UK Coalition Government
  • Inspire and motivate international delegates

Study tours will take place on the afternoon of Monday 15 November and are included in the overall delegate fee. Each tour will run for one hour and 30 minutes and will commence at approximately 14.30 and 16.30 (times to be confirmed); selected Colleges are expected to run both sessions. Transport to and from the Birmingham International Convention Centre and the Colleges will be organised by AoC.
