College learners shine in Adult Learners' Week Awards

Winners of this year’s adult lifelong learning awards include; stroke-victim John Johns, who regained his strength and mobility after attending Pilates classes at London’s City Lit, young mother Charlene Leigh Smith who found her vocation after studying car repainting at Chesterfield College, 57 year-old Blanche Keaveney, who overcame a life-long stammer on a City Lit speech therapy course and expectant mother Sharon Brennan, who completed her word processing exams at Derbyshire Adult Community College just 24 hours before giving birth.
