Promoting Colleges and further education

AoC Communications team works with member Colleges, Government, the LSC and other key stakeholders to promote the reputation of Colleges and further education. Basingstoke College

Key AoC public relations activities include:

  • Managing a network of over 500 College public relations and marketing professionals
  • Developing and implementing the Certificate in Reputation Leadership in partnership with CIPR 
  • Leading and partnering on major promotional campaigns - including Colleges Week and VQ Day
  • Designing and implementing comprehensive communications programmes to support the roll out of AoC campaigns such as Green Colleges and AoC Transport Campaign 
  • Standing membership of the Further Education Reputation Strategy Group
  • Working with the LSC as a key partner on the National Skills Campaign and other national marketing programmes

Services to Member Colleges

The Directorate also provides a range of public relations services to member colleges. These include:

  • Expanding effective working relationships with key national and regional papers, journals and other parts of the media
  • Regional public relations network and training events, managed by AoC Regional Offices
  • 24-hour crisis management advice
  • Media contacts directories
  • Directory of Expertise for Journalists inclusion
  • AoC Annual Communications Conference
