Employment
The Employment Team provides confidential advice and support to AoC member colleges on Employment related issues, ranging through the full spectrum of HR, employment law and industrial relations. We also represent the sector nationally in pay negotiations as well as in influencing and informing Government on employment law and policy matters.

HR Advice for College Employers
An expert team of advisers are available to provide practical solutions in response to HR enquiries via telephone and email. We underwrite the advice given to our member colleges.
Annual Surveys
Our annual surveys provide benchmarking for the FE sector on staff turnover and absence. Colleges can access the results of our annual surveys by downloading the reports from the Annual Surveys page.
Briefings
As part of our advisory service we issue regular Employment Briefings to update members and give guidance on developments in employment, case law and key employment issues facing the Sector. Our Negotiations Briefings provide updates for members on national pay negotiations.
Conferences
We host two major annual conferences aimed specifically for HR professionals in the FE sector.
National Networks
National and regional networks have been established for AoC members to meet regularly to share information and good practice.
Resources
A range of Joint Agreements on Guidance have been developed jointly with trade unions covering various topics and are available to download from our Resources section. Model contracts and letter templates for handling Preston part-time pension claims are also available to download.
As the representative employer's body of AoC member colleges, we seek to ensure that our member's interests are best served through our representation on a number of national working party groups.
