Technology Portfolio Group

 

Light DesignThe Technology Portfolio Group argues for the the strategic importance of technology in delivering learning. It interprets, and provide analysis on, Government policy and developments in technology the better to lobby on behalf of Colleges and will seek to provide leadership and strategic guidance to College management teams. The group reports directly to the AoC main board and receives technical guidance from the three national groups representing the operational areas of MIS, IT and Learning Technologies. The current membership of the group is:

Robin Ghurbhurun: Vice Principal, City College Norwich
David Lawrence: Principal, Easton College
Paul Head: Principal: The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London
Tracey McIntosh: Director of Planning and Performance, Barnet College
Mary Hunter: Principal, Xaverian College
Angela O'Donoghue: Principal, City of Sunderland College
Di Roberts: Principal, Brockenhurst College
Chris Morecroft: Principal, Worcester College of Technology
Jan Ellis: Principal, Telford College of Arts and Technology
Marion Plant: Principal, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College
Di Dale: Principal, Wiltshire College
Sally Dicketts: Principal, Oxford and Cherwell Valley College

The remit of the group is to:

  • Engage with Chief Executives, Governors and Principals on policy issues to maximise the benefits of technology, the better to  provide strategic guidance and leadership as it relates to the deployment of technology within Colleges;
  • Consider the emerging trends in technology and how these might best be applied within Colleges;
  • Run expert discussions to identify priorities and to convene workshops and seminars that focus on the effective use of technology in all areas of College activity;
  • Promote effective good practice from within Colleges, and from external organisations, on how to make best use of technology to deliver learning;
  • Develop an ethos of challenge and support which enables Colleges to work together in order to further the adoption of technology.
