Partnership - Becta

In association with Becta

Technology is transforming our everyday lives - and that includes the way in which we all learn.

At Becta, it is our job to help schools, colleges, training providers and universities apply technology innovatively and effectively.  The evidence is clear that, used properly, technology has a huge impact on students of all ages – it inspires and motivates students and their teachers, it improves their success rates and it allows them to learn when, where and how they want to.  Businesses too value the flexibility which technology brings to their skills training.  And schools, colleges and others all find that teaching, training and management all benefit from the proper use of technology.

How does Becta work?  We offer practical advice and good practice materials to education and skills professionals.  We work with government and others to influence education and skills policies.  And we work with industry and education and skills providers to set standards and to ensure that the right technology is available.   Our work includes:

- guidance on procurement and ‘digital architecture’

- help in 'e-safety’ matters

- support for equal opportunities

- the personalisation of learning

- helping teachers, trainers and others with their professional development

- advice on new building and refurbishment projects.

In all of our work, our goal is to help students of all ages – whether they’re just starting out, are upgrading their vocational skills or are doing postgraduate research - to enjoy their experience and to succeed in their ambitions.
