Some useful indicators of emerging markets for FE/VET, as well as general data on market trends and competitor countries. For further information, please contact Janet Ilieva at the British Council.
AoC commissioned this piece of research in 2007 which was undertaken by the University of Warwick’s Institute of Employment Research (IER).
A central part of this exercise was a survey which aimed to deliver an analysis of the current level and nature of international activities undertaken by UK FE colleges and an assessment of key opportunities in international markets for colleges and the wider TVET sector. Those which are especially relevant to FE colleges include:
Benchmarking the provision of services for international students in Further Education institutions (July 2008):
This analysis of the range and extent of services specifically designed for international students in the UK’s FE colleges, is a successor to a similar report focusing on HE provision which was published in 2007. It was produced to assist the FE sector as a whole in reflecting on the level of services currently provided, and to enable individual institutions to compare their performance against others, in order to assess to see whether and where improvements might be needed. A related self-assessment tool for institutions is also provided.
