MARCH 2010

AoC HE in FE Conference: The New Agenda?
Date: Wednesday 17 March

This event will look at the future of HE in FE given the changing landscape of further education including the Government’s proposed HE Framework, Machinery of Government changes, and potential general election in May.

Supporting and Developing STEM Provision in your College

The STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) sectors are key economic and social drivers for the UK, and are crucial to ensure that we meet the global technological challenges that lay ahead such as climate change, low carbon economy, infrastructure renewal, clean water and population growth. Changes in STEM technologies continue apace and it is vital that the FE sector remains abreast of these both from a technological point of view, and from being one of the key producers of the next generation of scientists and engineers.

AoC Annual Communications Conference

AoC Human Resources Conference and Exhibition
Date: Tuesday 4 & Wednesday 5 May

AoC’s Human Resources Conference is the must-attend HR event for Colleges in 2010 bringing together HR professionals working in the further education sector with top level speakers, exhibitors and peers.

AoC Estates Network Annual Property Conference 2010
Date: Mid May (date tbc)
Location: To be confirmed

This is an annual one day event with social sessions the night prior for residential delegates. This is the only event for the College sector relating to how estates services and asset management relates directly to the needs of the student.

JUNE 2010

The College Finance Directors’ Conference
Date: Tuesday 8 & Wednesday 9 June
Location: BT Convention Centre, Liverpool

The College Finance Directors’ Conference is an annual two-day residential event for college finance directors and managers and anyone who needs to keep up-to-date with finance issues in the English College sector.

AoC National Health & Safety Conference
Date: Wednesday 16 June
Location: to be confirmed

This annual conference is the key event in the Health and Safety calendar and will set out and update delegates on the Health and Safety role within further education Colleges.

AoC International Conference
Date: June (date tbc)
Location: To be confirmed

A key aim of the event will be to promote closer co-operation between all organisations working within and in partnership with the sector, to realise the full potential of UK further education in the international market.

The Information, Data and Technology Conference (formerly AoC NILTA CIS Conference)
Date: Thursday 24 June
Location: East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham

This event is the key annual event for MIS professionals in Colleges and anyone concerned with the information management issues facing Colleges resulting from changes to qualifications, funding and data returns.
Sponsorship and exhibition details will be available from mid March.

BCS/AoC National Sports Conference
Date: Monday 28 & Tuesday 29 June
Location: East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham

The conference is open to all those engaged in sport and recreation within Further Education Colleges from across England, Scotland and Wales.

NOVEMBER 2010

2010 World Congress of the Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics, hosted by AoC
Date: Sunday 14 & Monday 15 November
Location: The ICC, Birmingham

The programme will include international keynote speeches, workshops and study tours of local Colleges. Official conference language will be English.

AoC Annual Conference and Exhibition
Date: Tuesday 16 – Thursday 18 November
Location: The ICC, Birmingham

This is the main event for the further education sector and AoC’s 15th Annual Conference and Exhibition.
