DIUS/ AoC Community Cohesion Workshops

DIUS has just published a series of proposals that it wishes to consult on, in partnership with AoC.  Free consultation events are being planned, which will allow colleges to assess and comment on the impact of the new measures proposed - these include new self evaluation and risk assessment by colleges, a differentiated approach, the benefits of a multi-faith chaplaincy, links with community leaders, and guidelines on encouraging debate, cultural mixing, and further promoting the shared values that colleges already use to underpin their multi-cultural, multi-racial communities of learners.

  • Providing support for learners who may be at risk and appropriate sources of advice and guidance. 
  • Ensuring that learners and staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in preventing violent extremism.  
  • Promoting community cohesion in training delivered within a work-place.
