Association of Colleges

The AoC’s Regions organisations ran some 35 Regional Governors’ Network Meetings last year that supported the launch of the Governors’ Council in February.

We are committed to continuing to run these from 2009/10 onwards and we welcome any feedback you can provide to us about making the events as relevant, convenient and attractive to governors as we can.  We are also very keen to ensure the quality and consistency of our events across the country and welcome any feedback or views you may have on this. Over the next few weeks or so each of our Regions will be confirming the events that they are planning for 2009/10.  Details of these will be provided by the Regions to your individual Colleges and through the Clerks’ Network but we will also detail them centrally here on the College Governors’ area of the AoC website.  We are looking to provider hyperlinks to the regions’ websites so you can find out more or make a booking. We are still firming up on the details for fees but all events will either be free or will require notional charge of usually £50 (indicated * below).

This is a national programme, so Governors and Clerks on your behalf are encouraged to look at what interest you and is conveniently located regardless of the region.  Most events are open to all Governors wherever they live or their College is located.  One or two events may however be looking to address particular sub-regional/local issues and therefore be aimed at specific Colleges.  These are however the exception and not the rule.
